Meet Sebastian Plowman, he recently joined the Koolmill Team after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in June 2020 having completed both a BEng in Aerospace Engineering and a MSc in Advanced Engineering and Management.
Seb will be filling the roll of Product Design Engineer and will be working predominately on the InnovateUK funded project to design, prototype and develop the efficient Koolmill Rice Husking Machine.
Seb is extremely well suited to this role having acquired extensive CAD experience while at university, becoming proficient in Ansys, Creo and Simulink. One notable project, within Seb’s broad CAD portfolio, saw him design both the rotors and blades of a wind turbine. He then used Creo to develop a parametric blade modeller which in turn was used to determine the initial efficiency requirements to appropriately size the rotor.
“I was really excited at the opportunity on offer at Koolmill Systems Limited as I am very keen to test and further develop the modelling and manufacturing abilities that I acquired at University in an industrial environment. Being able to do so while working on a real-world problem, which has the potential to have significant positive effects – reducing food waste and improving people’s livelihoods – is even better!”
Outside of work Seb enjoys bouldering, hiking and Go-Karting. While at university Seb was actively involved in the Go-Karting society holding the Equality and Diversity Office Position. His actions were primarily focussed on growing the club member role, which did so dramatically – we can’t wait to challenge him to a race!
Welcome to the Koolmill Team!
